Power BI Dataset Performance Tuning
Most PowerBI reports rely on a small dataset. And due to a lighting fast data engine most data model mistakes are shadowed by the speed of the service. When the dataset gets bigger then best data modeling practices are required. The trick here is PowerBI data engine is not relational and therefore most data modeling techniques either don’t apply or don’t deliver. In this session we will go over how to model and measure performance for larger Power BI datasets.

Building Modern Data Warehouse and BI Solution in Microsoft Cloud
Data warehouse and BI market is evolving rapidly with the appearance of new cloud born technologies. We might assume, that moving an existing Microsoft based DWH to the cloud is an easy step, but when we dig a little bit deeper, we will see, there are many-many new technological choices and aspects on how to modernize an existing dwh/bi system in the cloud. Not to mention if we start everything from scratch in a new project designed specifically to the cloud to utilize cloud flexibility and innovation as much as possible.
Which ETL tool should I use? Data factory v2 with SSIS and BIML, or Azure Databricks powered Dataflows? Or Power BI Dataflow? Which is the right decision to run OLAP workloads? Azure AS? Or simply Power BI? When do I need Azure SQL DWH?
In the last couple years I helped many customers to modernize their DWH landscape partially or fully in the cloud and during my presentation I will share my findings and recipes for the most common situation I met. You will have fun:)

Manipulating Power BI Data with the PowerApps Visual
Take action on Power BI data and view the results instantly!  This session will demonstrate a use case for how the PowerApps visual for Power BI can be used to manipulate data right inside Power BI reports. A demonstration will show how a PowerApp can be embedded inside of Power BI.  The embedded PowerApp will write data to a back-end SQL Server table that by using a Composite model will allow us to view the results immediately inside of Power BI!

We'll also cover the PowerApps Visual V2 refresh feature that allows data directly inside the Power BI model to be updated.

Power BI, PowerApps and Sharepoint - A Perfect Combination for Cloud Services
Power BI with its functionalities start moving Business Intelligence into the cloud. Embedding Power BI reports directly in SharePoint Online pages is now possible with no code required. SharePoint groups are ideally integrated with Power BI service which allows us to create App Workspaces within SharePoint itself.

Using a SharePoint lists we can manage information by gathering them in rows known as a list item. PowerApps is relatively new service offering very scalable and powerful custom business apps where data are connected across the web and mobile from the cloud. Both Power BI and PowerApps embeds its visuals in the SharePoint page. Those three products seem to be well known for BI data professionals as a daily basis reporting and sharing platforms.

However, how can we be more efficient and use them simultaneously as one integrated environment? At this session, not only we will explore the features, but we’ll look at how to best use them together.
